Η Αγγελική Πετροπετσιώτη είναι καλλιτέχνης και ηθοποιός γεννημένη στην Ύδρα, με σημαντικό καλλιτεχνικό έργο στο ενεργητικό της. Την 1 Φεβρουαρίου και 8 Φεβρουαρίου 2015,  παρουσιάζει στο Λονδίνο στον χώρο της Andipa Gallery  την νέα της performance “Youkali” The Pursuit οf Happiness.

“Youkali”
The Pursuit Of Happiness

Inspired by Weill’s mournful and politically-charged tango which seeks for deliverance from a spiritually exhausted post-World-War Europe in ‘the land of our desires’ – ‘Youkali’ –, this show creates an atmosphere of nostalgia, sensuality and longing with its arrangement of poetry and prose by Charles Baudelaire, Nikos Gatzos, Anais Nin and Fernando Pessoa, alongside well-known songs like ‘La Vie en Rose’, ‘Que Sera Sera’, ‘Try to Remember’ and ‘Happiness Runs’ or films like A Boy on a Dolphin and Michael Powell’s Honeymoon, which explore the meanings of happiness in different contexts and times.
As the avant garde merges with popular culture into a seamless flow, History evaporates and the stage itself becomes ‘Youkali’ — a dreamland that reminds us, against the backdrop of the accordion, of the fragility of each and everyone’s pursuit of happiness, including our own.
The performance is a medley of Greek, English, French and Italian songs and melodies.
