Another, earlier article by Konstantinos Kalymnios, of the Greeks who fought in the Serbian Revolt. Few people realize that the first successful revolution against the Ottomans by the Balkan Christians occurred in Serbia, though the Serbs achieved autonomy, not independence. Greeks fought with the Serbs in this battle, and the Serbian and Greek diasporas in Austria and Russia contributed vital aid to the success of this revolt, under Kara Djordje Petrovic.
